A great day today - but tiring! 673 miles and I lost count at 30 hawks and 3 eagles...In Nebraska - it's flat...

Whew - 674 miles - just outside of Chicago. Stopped in Punxsutawny (he saw it!), and was then stopped by one of PA's finest (oops) - she (!) was sympathetic to my 2500 mile trip and gave me a stern warning (whew again!).

My friend Anita and I went snowshoeing today on the Appalachian Trail near my home. Just three more days here in DWG! Spending time with friends in between packing...

Wow, it's less than 2 weeks until I leave for Missoula. Packing everything I own, hoping I remember which box is which - keeping an inventory, a good idea! Spent some time walking through my town. It really is a pretty place...

Movin Out West (for real!!)

Well, here it is - the 'FREE' sign in front of the house and the For Sale sign on the house. I'm really going!! Off to Missoula, Montana to find my dreams. I've been accepted as the new Workshops Director for the Rocky Mountain School of Photography there and I am so excited! It's a bit hectic (?!!?) getting everything done, the house sold, a place to live there, packing, throwing, giving - lots of giving.
My gut knows this is absolutely the right thing to do, my heart is being challenged. But no looking back - it's all good!

The long ride home

What a great trip home! We took 10 days and traveled through Yellowstone to Wyoming - stopping in Jackson for an overnight. Yellowstone - what can I say - awesome!
Made it to Cleveland and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame before slogging through a snowstorm (over 1 1/2 feet on the ground!) in PA. Finally home. Weird to be back. Now what??

Well, it's that time - packing up all that I've brought to Missoula - and, oh yeah, a bunch of stuff I got while I was here.
Quite a time I've had - learned so many new and exciting things about photography and, most importantly, met some of the coolest, most genuine new friends...we've promised to stay in touch.
So, I'm off Tuesday morning with my friend Leslie, a fellow PA-er. We're taking the Oregon Trail road trip through Yellowstone and on to Chicago. Lots to see along the way.

Leaving Montana

I'm starting to think about leaving Montana and returning to my home in PA. It has been a wonderful, exciting, terrifying and many times overwhelming experience for me. But I have learned so much - much of it having little to do with photography. Personal growth, who woulda thought?!

The Tipi adventure

So, my friend Mary and I went on this adventure to Browning, MT to live in a tipi for a few days - nobody said there was going to be thunderstorm! Wind whipping the flaps of the tipi and pouring down rain. But we were dry and warm with a fire going, a glass of wine and much laughter...

The Flute

So, here's a little about me that has nothing to do with photography (well, almost nothing). I've played the flute since I was in the fourth grade - played up until college in various bands and orchestras. I haven't played in quite q while but always have music around me. When I came to Missoula I was lucky enough to meet Julie Vasquez of the Missoula Symphony and photograph her flute collection. Fun for me - she played, I reminisced.
